Why is Zarina Anwar standing for election in Kings Hedges

I’m fed up with councillorswho don’t live here making decisions behind closed doors. They only show up when they want our votes, never when our community needs them. Our local issues go deeper than potholes and litter. Kings Hedges is one of the most deprived wards in Cambridge, and the impact is felt every day. Food bank usage is at a record high, and many families are struggling just to get by.
Our young people also have nowhere dedicated to go, no safe space to learn new skills, build confidence or simply have fun. In a city as wealthy as Cambridge, this gap shouldn’t exist. Residents here aren’t asking for special treatment. We’re asking for fairness, investment and opportunities that match the needs of
our community. It’s time to close the gap and ensure Kings Hedges gets the support it deserves. I want to give Kings Hedges a voice on the council and empower our community to decide on what we need.
